A Week Away

We were gone all of last week. We went with Erin and visited my mom in Lindale on Monday. We had a great time- we went to the pool and the Tyler Science Center. It is a pretty cool museum that has a lot of science exhibits and career centers that kids role-play in. Finn pretended to be a nurse in the hospital nursery and rocked a baby doll and fed it a bottle. Then dropped it on it's head. Maybe nursing is not in Finn's future.
We were also able to have lunch with my Grandma Donnelly.
On Thursday, we met my dad in Arlington. Finn went to his first Ranger's game and made all 9 innings in the hot sun. The Rangers won, and Finn picked up a souvenir Rangers t-shirt and cap. Will, Brent, Bryan, and Cody joined us for the game . That night we had dinner at my all-time favorite restaurant, Traildust. yes, my favorite restaurant has a slide in the middle of it and cuts of ties of any traveling businessmen. Don't judge.
The next day we went to Six Flags. Finn rode a lot of little rides in Looney Toon land and even rode some "big rides" like the Mini- Mine Train, the Roaring Rapids, and the Log Ride. Finn wasn't scared at all- he especially loved the Roaring Rapids. I think he enjoyed seeing Erin getting soaked while he stayed dry.
On Saturday, we went to the Fort Worth Zoo. Finn was really excited to see the lions (which he calls Alex). Finn was a little trooper the whole time.
We went looking around all of the neighborhoods around Fort worth on sunday. I really liked the downtown and TCU areas. We are hoping to find a place to rent there come September.
Finn really enjoyed seeing his family, and keep asking where everybody went.

Summer Fun

So, Rick and I will be apart during the week this summer and I will be home alone with Finn all summer long. Deep breath. I am working hard on thinking up activities to do that will keep us busy. I think it will be a really good opportunity for Finn and I to go out and explore Austin together before we move off to Cowtown. I also want to keep a daily or weekly log of all the fun new things Finn is up to, because he is growing up so fast. I am going to try and figure out how to post pictures, also.

Finn had summer school at Mother's Day out this week. It was a cars themed camp, so I was sure he would be excited. Every morning he would scream "No school!", but I think he must have managed to have some fun.

We have started working on potty training, which involves a lot of temper tantrums and bribery. I think it might be a while before Finn is diaper free.

Finn has been talking up a storm and started singing along to songs. His favorite is a pop song called "shake, Shake.". He also loves the "ABCs", "The Itsy Bitsy Spider", and "London Bridge"

This week has been busy- on Monday we went to the Austin Zoo and discovered that Finn has a major phobia of birds, specifically peacocks. Poor baby. On Tuesday, we had dinner with Aunt Erin. Wednesday we went to the children's Museum, and today we went and saw Kung Fu Panda.
