We're Baaack!

We are officially back in Austin. Hopefully for good. We love our new place- the views are amazing. I liked Fort Worth but I really missed the hills of Austin. Finn tells us he likes our new house better tahn our old one. There are hiking trails in our complex where you can watch the sunset on the lake- it is gorgeous. Finn loves the two pools- one indoors, one outdoors. We compromised on the painting of his new room- I convinced him to do a blue room instead of red, but I had to paint clouds on it like Andy's room is decorated in Toy Story. He has a view of Lake Travis from his window.
We are still unpacking and getting settled in, but we we should have everything up and running soon. I am still searching for a teaching job- so keep your fingers crossed. Finn doesn't seem upset about the move at all except for missing his Mother's Day Out girlfriend, Camryn. A couple of days ago he told me, "I want a girlfriend." Scary!!! Girl crazy already.

Easter

It was a very busy Easter weekend for us. We moved on Saturday at our new place in Austin. Yea!!!! We really like our new townhouse- it is in a beautiful area, Steiner Ranch. It has gorgeous views and lots of activities to do. The only problem is it is three story which means two flights of stairs to go up and down throughout the day. Oh well, maybe I will build up my calf muscles. I felt so sorry for all the guys who helped us move furniture up and down those stairs on Saturday- we owe them big time! Finn had a practice Easter egg hunt the Thursday before we left, in the lawn of the Kimball Art Museum. On Saturday, I took him to the Riverbend Church Easter Egg Hunt. He loved it- he got a ton of candy filled eggs. He got his face painted like a bunny, got his picture taken with the Easter bunny, went to the petting zoo, and jumped in the bounce house. On Sunday, we went to Riverbend's Easter service. Finn is now old enough to go to Sunday school. He watched a play about the story of Easter and on the way home he kept yelling "They moved the rock!" "Jesus wasn't there!" "Jesus is alive!" It was really cute. That night we went to dinner to our friends Derek and Katie's house. Dinner was delicious. We had a great Easter and hope that you guys did too! At the Riverbend Easter Hunt Finn fought this kid for that egg. And won. I had to pry this kid away from the Easter bunny. My Little Bunny Finn loves his Easter outfit. Sweet Addison

Latest News

Well, the latest news with us is that we are moving to Austin on Friday! We are very excited- even though I feel I have moved way too much over the past year and a half. We are very fortunate that Rick has a job in Austin and we have a nice new townhome in the Steiner Ranch area. I am looking for a teaching job and Rick is thinking about going back to school for environmental engineering at night and working during the day. Finn is excited to move and wants to paint his new room red and decorate it with racecars. I am going to have to veto that idea- I am all about freedom of expression but I don't want to get Finn all new decorations for his room (he has surfer stuff right now)or raise the next Nascar fan. We will have to work on a compromise.

Finn had his last creative movement class yesterday and they had a farewell celebration for him- he is really going to miss that class. I don't think he is going to miss his Mother's Day Out that much. I think he tolerated being there but is going through a (3 year) phase where he hates being away from me. I signed Finn up for t-ball for this summer- his first game is June 20th. I am very interested to see what a t-ball game consisting of 3 year old players is like. He has been practicing on his t-ball set but does not like to be tagged out.

Finn got to take his picture with the Easter bunny, and was so excited about it. he held his hand most of the time. Finn has started dreaming lately- maybe he always has but he has just started talking about his dreams when he wakes up and saying off the wall stuff. Last night he told me to get that bad porcupine out of his room. Finn's new favorite thing to say is "I have an idea." And then he will suggest some oddball idea- like "I have an idea, lets jump off the dinig room table." um. no.
Last night he was so funny. Finn was crying over something- can't remember what it was. He said ."I have an idea, I need something to calm me down." This seemed so grown-up to me and I didn't really knwo what he was talking about until he went and got his pacifier to put in his mouth. He is so funny nowadays and he is always cracking me up.

Hope everybody has a Happy Easter! I will post Finn's Easter pics next week.
