Change is Good

Santa Fe

We had a good time on our very quick road trip to Santa Fe. It was great getting to see my Dad and see that his health is improving. Finn did suprisingly well in the car. Thank goodness for the portable DVD player. I swear I will never get the theme from Calliou out of my head. Will and I kept ourselves busy by playing road-trip games like 20 Questions and Alphabet Signs. Will may be the world's worst 20 questions player, by the way. Every question was "How old is she?", "What color is her hair?" Yes or no questions only, Ginger! Will was nice enough to do all of the driving, which I was very grateful for.

My Dad watched Finn while Will and I ate at at steakhouse for Will's birthday. It was delicious. Finn had a great time with his Pop-Pop. He loved that Santa Fe had snow. He built his first snowman- and named it Frosty Girl. Finn did not want to leave. All in all,it was a very worthwhile trip!

Even cool guys go to the dentist!

Finn had his very first dentist appointment today! He was such a good little patient while he was there. All of the hygienists and the dentist kept commenting on what a perfectly behaved patient he was. He opened his mouth whenever they needed him to and never once fussed. Having Wall-e playing and me promising a cupcake if he was good may have helped his behavior some. They said that we have been doing a good job taking care of Finn's teeth (minus the extended pacifier use), but there were a couple of problems. He had two teeth that never developed properly,so he will have to have two teeth filled within the next couple of months. This means that he will have to be put under anesthesia with a pediatric anesthesiologist so the dentist can work on his teeth. He will get laughing gas from an oxygen mask and then get a shot of ketatine. It makes me nervous, but I know that we need to take care of this problem before it gets worse. I hope his experience with anesthesia is better than the one I had when I got my wisdom teeth removed. I woke up in my house to a power outage, ran screaming to my neighbors house in my pajamas, and told them someone was trying to murder me. Lets hope that was a fluke.
